Biography

GPA Laboratories, a Sonic Healthcare Anatomic Pathology Practice, is privileged to include Julia S. Manny, M.D., as a member of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Manny has an extensive academic and medical professional background.

Dr. Manny earned her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, graduating with distinction, summa cum laude. She then received her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. She participated in a neurology residency, followed by her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where she was chief resident in her final year. She then completed her hematopathology fellowship, also at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

Upon completion of her postgraduate training, Dr. Manny began holding key medical professional positions. She held active positions on the anatomic lab process and organization committee, and residency education committee. She has taken part in hematological pathology case conferences, urology multidisciplinary conferences, pathology anatomic lecture series, and surgical oncology tumor boards. She was the teaching assistant for medical student histology and medical student anatomy at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She was a pathologist with Greensboro Pathology Services LLC of North Carolina prior to her position with GPA Laboratories.

Over the years, Dr. Manny has developed extensive professional experience. She holds medical research publications, abstracts, and articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, as well as oral and poster presentations at professional medical meetings and conferences. She is an active member of the American Medical Association, American Society for Clinical Pathology, College of American Pathologists, Society for Hematopathology, and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.

Dr. Manny holds full medical licensure and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, and hematology.
